My name is Cookie.  I am a six year old, beefy girl.  I am fantastic with kids of all ages and love other dogs, albeit I am a bit of a loner and prefer to watch the ruckus rather than participate.

I was surrendered to IBR due to my previous families inability to provide me with adequate care.  I need additional potty breaks which requires someone to either be at home most often, or be comfortable diapering me, or I will potty inside.  IBR started me on medication to see if that would help me be able to be more manageable.  I am currently going outside about every hours now and it’s been great!  I do wear a diaper at night though because my foster mom says “there is no way we are waking up 7 dogs at 4am to go pee-pee” and I understand that would be a lot on her.  I sleep in a crate, which I do not like and will not enter willingly, but I am quiet once inside.  If given the opportunity, I will run from you if I think you’re going to crate me.  Beware, I am super fast!  I will require a fenced yard, for this reason also.

I currently weigh 69 pounds but we are working on my diet and exercise program.  This will be slow going due to the heat outside, but my foster mom said summer is just getting whatever body I have.  I am fat and happy!  Believe it or not, I am a shy eater and other dogs intimidate me at meal time, so my foster mom leaves my food separate and I eat once the frenzy has calmed down. I live with six other wild dogs.

I love to go places in the car, and quite good on a leash and can be talked into going up and down stairs if it’s worth my while.  They aren’t my favorite though.  I absolutely love water and the baby wading pool at my foster home.  My family must have one for me, or we will have to seriously negotiate this sticking point.  Playing in the water has proven to be my favorite thing to do during my time in foster care.
