At 8 years old, this medium-sized sweetheart has perfected the art of cozy companionship. Gertie is happy-go-lucky, affectionate, and completely people-focused. She thrives on being close to her humans and will happily soak up all the love you’re willing to give.

Gertie enjoys her naps (and delivers the most stealthy little snores that are equal parts quirky and endearing). She’s food-motivated and loves her treats and mealtime routines, which makes keeping her on schedule a breeze.

She’s gentle, friendly, and wonderful with kids. Gertie truly shines in a home where she can be the center of attention, so she would do best as an only dog. Her compatibility with cats hasn’t been tested yet. She does require a simple daily eye ointment for dry eye, but otherwise she’s a low-maintenance gal who appreciates a cozy, predictable routine.
