Yara is a shy girl looking for a lap to keep warm.

She is currently being treated for heartworms, and still needs mammary tumors removed, so she’ll likely be on medical hold for a bit until she’s healthy.

She gets along with other dogs as long as they are calm, but when faced with dogs who are rambunctious, running, and barking, she has a tendency to attack. For this reason, she would be best as an only dog or in a home with a very low-energy dog.

Yara has spent much of her life outdoors, so she really enjoys passing the time in the yard when it’s not too hot/cold. She knows how to use a doggie door, too, so a home where she is free to come and go throughout the day would be lovely.

Regarding food, she likes to always have some in her bowl because she tends to be a slow grazer.

If you’re looking for a great lap buddy, she would love to sit and get ear and chin rubs from you all day every day.
